Introducing our Pastor

photo of pastor of churchOur pastor is Paul Coventry.  He is in his 40’s, and is married with four children (two at primary school and two at High School).  He has been with us at the church for over six years now.

Paul was born and brought up in Glasgow.  After working for eight years in the civil service he left to study for three years at a Bible College in Glasgow called the Bible Training Institute.  Following his studies he served with a church in Ipswich, England, for eight years before returning to Scotland

Paul enjoys reading (especially history) and manages to play five-a-side football every week (although advancing years may soon put an end to that!).

His passion as the minister of this church lies in his conviction that the Bible is the very Word of God and contains all we need to know for life and for eternity.  Paul is responsible for preaching God’s Word both morning and evening every Sunday as well as giving leadership in other aspects of church life.

Leadership

The leadership of our church is based upon the biblical pattern of elders and deacons (see 1 Timothy 3:1-13).  Elders have the primary responsibility for the spiritual welfare of the church with deacons playing the important role of supporting the elders in a variety of practical ways.  We have two elders (one of whom is our pastor) and four deacons at the present time.
